"I'm a person who has life, and wants to live," she said. She said she prays every day that she will have the strength to keep off drugs. "I won't break." I hope not Whitney, truly.

Not too long ago, many wondered if Houston's career and her personal health were in jeopardy. The second Jackson concert was the latest in a string of last-minute no-shows by Houston. In the spring of 2000, organizers canceled her appearance at the Academy Awards, and a few weeks later she failed to show up at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to help induct her mentor and longtime producer, Clive Davis of Arista Records.

At the time, her publicist attributed the Oscar cancellation to a sore throat, but Houston told Primetime she was "fired" because she was "not getting along with" the director, Burt Bacharach, during the rehearsals. "I had an attitude about it," she said.

She said the no-shows have been blown out of proportion compared with her record during her 17-year career. "If you look at the stats of how many concerts I did, and how many concerts I missed, there's no comparison," she said. "I've done more shows in my lifetime than I've missed in my lifetime."

I wasn't aware that 50/50 is a good performance ratio. I think of it more like school or work than, say, field goal percentage from outside the 45 yard line.

But Bobby makes Whitney look like Cal Ripken in the reliability department:

Brown has had his own problems with drugs and alcohol. After crashing Houston's Porsche into a Hollywood signpost in 1996 while driving drunk, he repeatedly violated his probation conditions, and spent two months in jail in 2000 after his probation officer said he tested positive for cocaine. (Prosecutors dropped the drug-test charge after he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.)

He was even arrested in Atlanta on the morning of the Primetime interview, Nov. 7, for allegedly speeding, driving without a license and having marijuana in the car.

He told Sawyer he smokes marijuana "maybe every other day" to help regulate a bipolar disorder. He said he has never used other drugs, and denied there was cocaine in his system when he took the drug test in 2000. "I tested for a substance like cocaine, which can be anything. It can be an aspirin. It can be a Valium," he said.

It could be water.

Hi Im 16, and Ive always thought ive been born in the wrong time. But anyway to the point, everyone is dogging bobby and whitney. people are blaming bobby for whitney's downfall, but everyone has a mind of their own, she could have decided to say no, we learned it in the 4th graded. peer pressure my ass.they are human to, and no one's perfect. they both just need time to get it together, but sort if fast before they run out of time. ya no what i mean. i love em both but they really need to get it together. i believe that that they can do. they probably just need support, not the public or the media dogging them. and worst of all family thats dogging them, that shit need to stop. they need their family help to get back on the right track. the same thing they did to micheal jackson is what they are tring to do to bobby and whitney just a different subject. so please dont dog our people, if anything help them. i love em both but someone help them and quick. i just want them to know they've got my full support. "every little step they take' i will be there!"

To me both Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston are idols. They were both megastars back in the 80's and early 90's and both of them had tons of talent. I think both of them are still very talented and might be able to make a comeback if they seriously cleaned up, got their acts together and doggedly decided "Alright, I'm going to make a comeback. This is serious. I can't let my career end this way."

Unfortunately Whitney isn't hard or edgy enough for today's crowd who loves ghetto, gangsta chicks who can only carry a note and obsessed with no-talents like Beyonce and Rihanna. Her voice is shot from years of drug abuse and she hasn't completely sobered up. But she still has plenty of fans on her side and media support. Bobby Brown still sings more or less like he used to, a little damanged, but he mainly just has a deeper voice now and hasn't dealt with and perfected it in terms of singing. Unfortuantely for him he's gained some weight which he needs to lose before coming back and he needs to fix his face and hair up or something. He looks kind of unhealthy. He'll also have an uphill battle against public hatred and animus of rabid Whitney fans who use him as a convenient scapegoat to blame her bad behavior, addiction to drugs and crappy decisions on. It's not fair at all but it exists unfortunately.

Bobby, Whitney, you're both MEGAstars to me and could easily blow no-talents like Chris Brown and Rihanna out of the water. You have more talent in your pinky fingers than 98% of people in the game today. Please do the world a favor - COME BACK! We miss you!
