Joe Strummer 1952-2002

Joe Strummer, frontman of The Clash and more recently The Mescaleros, is dead of an apparent heart attack aged 50. Details (such as they presently are) are here. A third Mescaleros album was being planned, and tentative plans were also made for a one-off performance by the Clash at their Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction next year. Nothing much else I can say about this. Don't know about anyone else, but this has put a hole in my festive cheer.
