Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron

I finally got through the glitchy DVD of this movie, and I wasn't really impressed. It was full of good ideas... the horses don't talk except in voiceover, the Mom didn't die, a reasonable love story. But the plot was passable at best, and extremely predictable, even for a kid's movie. And the soundtrack was nearly unbearable. Also, I didn't much like the technophobic, greenish tinge of the movie.

Beyond that, the animation was nice, if rather old-fashioned. The few voices were well done. Not really much else to say, a completely mediocre movie.

It definitely won't win. My vote still goes to Lilo and Stitch, but Ice Age will probably win.

Lilo and Stitch sucks compared to Ice Age. Spirit was okay, but the Bryan Adams music was by far the most annoying thing I have heard since the death of our braying donkey.
