Tam Paton cleared of child abuse charges.

Police have dropped their investigation into an allegation of child sex abuse against former Bay City Rollers manager Tam Paton.
Surrey Police has told the 64-year-old that no further enquiries will be carried out into an allegation that he abused an underage boy in the late 1970s.
Mr Paton was taken in for questioning at the same time as the TV presenter Matthew Kelly, who was cleared last month.
Another man, 52-year-old songwriter Stephen Jolley, was also cleared.

Apparently Pete Townshend's being let off with a caution too. Read about this in the Telegraph today, according to which he had to plead guilty and therefore will have a police record, but there won't be any further punishment. How long until Robert del Naja gets let off too? I find it interesting, after all, that for all these high-profile pedophilia cases of late (Paton, del Naja, Townshend, Kelly and Jolley), Pete's the only one so far they've been able to pin anything on and even then he's being largely let off lightly...

It's great to hear Pete's not going to be charged, since it's obvious he didn't do anything wrong - just incredibly stupid. They didn't "pin" anything on him - he offered his computers as evidence and admitted that he looked at the sites for research. That is not the action of a guilty man. I, for one, am glad to see him let off. As for Del Naja, time will tell. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as well, it's only fair.
